The most unique part of this project was determining the best way to handle the dramatic slope in the backyard while still accomplishing the customer's objective of a showpiece backyard.

There were three main phases to this project to accomplish this objective:

The pool construction, the masonry and the carpentry for the veranda.

The 18'x36' 90º rectangle pool design was recommended to create clean lines that would compliment the stone and travertine materials that would surround the pool. We also added an extended sun shelf/stair in the shallow end to make it user friendly for all ages. The liner was a natural grey with no border to give the pool a polished and upscale finish.

To address the dramatic grade / slope, the mason built a raised beam with stone veneer along one side of pool that included 3 sheer
descent waterfalls. To balance this feature, a stone bench with firebowls, a waterfall and 2 scuppers sit on the opposite
wall. And then finally for fun, a dive platform, with a 5th waterfall was added in the center of the deep end. The patio
material is travertine.


The final phase was the veranda which paid attention to all the details and created not only an area for outside dining,
but completed the objective of having spectacular views no matter where someone sits in the yard.
