Installations in the U.S. & Canada > Residential Concrete Pools > Pools with a Vanishing Edge - 601 sq. ft. or more
This estate home, being built by one of the area’s most prestigious builders, would be one of fine detail and craftsmanship. Our role, in the addition of the pool and outdoor living areas, was to ensure that same quality of construction, materials, and craftsmanship to our work, that the builder was providing everywhere else. In addition, this project contains a perimeter overflow and infinity edge feature that require absolute precision.
This Mediterranean villa style project incorporates a large dominant perimeter overflow and infinity edge pool that is positioned along the main axis of the house. The pool features an all tile beam and exterior walls that are clad in a gorgeous deep blue pattern that ties into the surrounding elements including furniture, the fire feature, playground, and sport court. The pool is partially out of grade on one side, which allows the exposed tile walls to be a unique feature within the backyard. The exposed waist-height pool wall also allows for a partially buffered seating area alongside the pool. The decking, spa coping, and fire feature are Lueder limestone, which gives the project a clean modern look, while also tying back to the stucco of the Italian villa style home. The plaster used, in conjunction with the selected tile, gives the pool a unique blue color that is best described as Mediterranean blue. The spa is located on the backside of the pool, centrally located in the overall backyard.
The main body of the pool is centered on the view from the foyer, through the 10’ tall glass doors on the back of the home, also on the center line from the great room, off the side of the pool. By utilizing the same Lueder limestone for the decking, as is used on the façade of much of the home, there is a continuity of aesthetic that creates a visually clean, seamless appearance between the home and the pool.
