This residential, resort style pool is massive. It includes a perfectly circular, recessed fire-pit on an island in that is surrounded by a lazy river. The huge rock water walls are over 10’ high. Beyond the water walls is a wide-open swimming area and rock structure measuring more than 100’ side to side. The other major design elements include: a covered swim-up bar, a free-form, all-glass tile spa (both located on the island), limestone decks, modular “floating” cantilevered seating/lounging areas extending from the base of the water walls, sixteen fire features, outdoor kitchen and dining areas, and a 60-foot waterslide hidden in the rock structure. With so many moving parts, this project stands out for both its complexity and size.

We knew from experience that building large water walls is tricky and we had never attempted wall features on this scale. So we had to do research on how to make these work properly.

We also used boulders for the water feature that weighed up to 30 tons each. Each of these required numerous trips to pick out the right ones. And due to the sheer size of each boulder, they each had to be brought into the backyard by a crane.
