Due to the surrounding settings, we knew right away that the pool had to be something special. The home sits atop the mountain looking out over the forests and rolling hills for miles, truly encapsulating the countryside. That, combined with the large slope that consumed most of the back yard, made all parties immediately come to the decision to do a vanishing edge. At that point, the homeowner chose to turn the project into a multi-tier, multi-functional outdoor living space.

The upper tier would become the main living space, close to the home for easy access during entertaining. Fully equipped with a complete outdoor kitchen, a pavilion ensuring that weather would never close down a party, a hot tub for the adults, and an expansive 1078 square foot pool that will never get too crowded. The swimming pool features a vanishing edge in the deep end, giving way to the fantastic views in the distance.

Leading down from the upper patio, massive natural stone steps take you down to a relaxing getaway complete with a fireplace and large patio area for seating. Below the vanishing edge, there is a deep tub for soaking as opposed to a small basin just to catch water. That would still allow the space to be used, and anyone utilizing it to remain part of the conversation in that area and not feel separated from the action.

Overall, the project would end up featuring over 24 full lines of plumbing, 5 pumps, 3 filters, 40 outdoor landscape lights, and full automation. The project took a lot of time and thought to make sure that it was designed and executed properly. Moving machines along the steep incline was a bit scary at first, but manageable while following proper safety guidelines. Moving each monument block into the exact position, and then fine tuning by hand would prove to be a challenge, but would be ultimately overcome by the desire to see such a wonderful project come to life. Knowing that this whole project had to be perfect to endorse not only their home and landscaping, but miles and miles of land that we could not change even if we wanted to was the biggest challenge. The home could be changed, the landscaping could be changed. But that impeccable view was there forever, and to design an outdoor living space paradoxical to it would almost seems like a waste.

Both our company and the homeowners were totally blown away by the imposing project, and it will forever be something that we take pride and honor in being a part of.
