Description
The residence waterscape was designed with 4 things in mind.
1. A grand view to create a resort feel for the residence.
2. A fun place for the family
3. Exercise
4. Good Feng Shui was important to the homeowner as well.
The waterscape consists of 5 bodies of water. The Project is 35’ tall from the turtle pond to the top of the water walls. holds 175,000 gallons of water, used over 30 tons of rebar, 275 yards of concrete, has 14 pumps, 6 filters, and 6 heaters. The heaters and firebowls use 2,350,000 btus of gas.
Entering the front door you are on a catwalk over the basement/entertainment level of the home. Through the 25’ wide Lanaii doors the Turtle pond waterfall spilling into infinity is the first thing in view. This multiple speed waterfall flows from 75 gpms up to 250 gpms. It lands into a collection basin that rolls into the turtle pond so as to not create too much turbulence. Turtles of course are good Feng shui. The waterfall and firebowl at the Turtle pond is visible from 3 entertainment rooms (Bar, Game and performance rooms) through 20’ wide lanaii doors. It is a great place for the family to gather on a cool or breezy night as it is protected from the wind.
The main pool has a large beach entry for the little kids to play on the bigger kids to sunbathe. One of the rocks is shaped to be a natural sunbathing lounge.
The swim up bar is designed at a ht./depth per the owners liking. The water around a person’s mid-section can be uncomfortable unless the ambient and water temperatures are just right.
Right next to the main waterfall the rock is fashioned with handholds for a rock climbing adventure. The main waterfall falls directly towards the family room showering the place where the family is most with good energy.
Next to the Waterfall handholds are designed into the rock formation to act as a climbing wall.
The (not so) lazy river starts at the waterfall and winds around the island under the rock bridge, through the canyon, under another waterfall into a cave. You can get out onto the island at the spa or just keep going around for as long as you want.
There is a bridge that crosses the river to the island. Turn to the left and down the rock steps on the island and there is a spa in a grotto with a hot water waterfall. Lights and speakers complete the experience. Through the grotto is the island restroom.
Turn to right and make your way up the rock steps and you on top of the mountain with a beautiful view of the city and golf course. The all tiled slide drops you off the mountain rather quickly into the 8' deep end of the pool.
The raised lap pool serves a few functions. First It is raised to shield the view of the main pool from the tee box just outside the property. Second it is a 60'lap pool that can be heated separately from the main pool. It has a secluded seating area behind the river grotto. And last but not least it has arched waterfall especially angled and sized to encompass the whole house with good Feng Shui. There is no infinity edge because water spilling away from your home is good energy leaving.
Next to the Feng shui water fall are two waterwall spillways adding to the good energy.
