The aesthetic appeal of this entire project combines both the use of the spa with the use of the outdoor entertaining space. A centrally located swim-up bar joins the outdoor structure, creating a space that can be enjoyed both in and out of the water. A TV, fireplace, grill area, outdoor seating, and flanking copper water scuppers on each side of the bar make this outdoor space unforgettable. The use of timbers, stone, and cable railings combined with the fireplace and water features make for a backyard retreat that is sure to wow the attending guests. The use of the lighting, both in the spa and structure and surrounding landscape , really makes this project special at night.

This project forced us into an unusual level of creativity because the homeowner did not want a full sized pool, but a body of water that could be heated and used as a spa year round, yet sized a bit larger than a normal spa so it could be used as a pool as well. The challenge was to incorporate this body of water into the design and structure so it could be enjoyed both in and out of the water. The exposed spa wall flows seamlessly into the structure creating a beautiful bar that can be enjoyed with or without a bathing suit. The existing grades on the lot also contributed to how we designed this creative outdoor space.
