Being set in a country setting outside the city with a large wooded area behind the house the design was meant to give our client a natural rustic look.
The client wanted a space that could function as an entertaining area for guest and somewhere the family could enjoy a cozy dinner on a warm summer evening or enjoy a Saturday night hockey game in comfort in the winter months while keeping warm in the cabana by the cozy fireplace.

Do to the large slope in the backyard we had to work with the existing landscape to design the clients ideal backyard retreat and add multiple levels that served different purposes and had there own unique features.

- The highest elevated area in the back of the yard includes a natural stone fire pit area and allows you to view the pool and cabana area from afar looking down to the relaxing water features of the pool.
- The lowest level of the yard, where we placed the pool includes a large open concept cabana with full kitchen, BBQ area and living room. Whit Granite counter tops accent the Black finish on the cabana and black asphalt roof. Opposite the kitchen is in-wall fireplace and HD TV sitting area that gives the cabana two separate covered entertaining areas under one roof.
- Between the lower pool level and elevated firepit area, a raised sitting area above the deep end of the pool is perfectly placed. It is surrounded by a wood pergola built using Large Douglas Fir beams which compliments the natural design our client was aiming for. Using the existing slope of the yard, this breaks the areas apart nicely and adds another area to relax by the pool.
- The Banas Jet Black coping stones and Uni-lock paver patio stones help to give the backyard that natural feel and remains consistent with the colours used in the rest of the yard.


We used a lot of hardscape and natural stone throughout the yard to keep a clean manicured look and the garden beds were set within the natural boulders

The rustic looking fabricated planters and use of Natural wood features around the pool is consistent with the clients desire to create a relaxing backyard retreat for friends and family.
