1. As with any high end project the finishes needed to meet the grandeur of the design. From the Glass tile zero edges and water wall to the polished interiors and the travertine coping and decks, everything has tight tolerances for water levels and flows.
2. A literal Desert Oasis featuring Rim Overflow pool and spa spilling into a lazy river, this project is far outside of the city or even any rural areas surrounded by desert.
3. This home and lot are literally in the desert. There was an existing slope that was partially supported by a retainer wall. The patio of the house to the river decks have a 5' elevation difference, and the area where the river was built had a 2' slope from the front to back. Cut and fill was done to utilize existing soil which was brought up and compacted in lifts as required. The rolling hills on the island were formed before the river was excavated.
Operationally the upper pool and spa can be heated independantly of the river and vice versa. Multiple speeds on the river per the owners mood. The owner loved the clean lines of a zero edge pool but had to have a river.
4. Again, designed to be a literal oasis in the desert, the lush water and land scape fades into the desert landscape around the perimeter. From different vantage points form the zero edge pool and the river you can peer through the landscape out into the desert. From the home the clean lines of the upper pool and spa integraate into the patio.
