Description
It is hard to believe that this highly decorated backyard was just installed a few short years ago. It was 2011 and the homeowners had purchased the lot next to them, tore the house down to open up the space and the existing pool no longer was a good fit for the yard. We completed the first renovation by tearing out the exiting pool and replacing with a new one that was a better fit for their larger yard. So, it is hard to believe that this amazing yard could be improved upon. Following the homeowner purchasing the lot behind them, they tore down the wall and built a guest quarters. After doing this, they quickly realized they needed to update the pool with something that would offer a focal part from all views of the property. In their words, “A dramatic water feature”. Due to the cabana also being under renovation, all the equipment had to be moved 60 ft from existing location . This was all done with only 18” of the pool drained. Once the equipment was relocated and electrical complete while pool was lowered, then refilled as they decided on the final design. In the end a 7 ft fluted custom fabricated bowl was decided on. During construction of the bowl, the pool was drained 2 ft and excavated and framed for new structure housing adjacent pool. A diver was required to plug off the lines as we did not want the pool drained for any lengthy period. We then demoed the existing wall without disturbing the interior of the pool and attached on a new steel structure to the existing structure. Relocation of the infloor system was required and new application for fountain infloor was completed by Paramount. The bowl was then set and uplighting placed strategically to illuminate the water curtain produced by the fountain. Piers were dug to bedrock using a manual auger. The entire pool was covered with plastic and Tyvak board as the gunite was applied
